Icon For Hire Kansas City Concert reviews
Lyle and John at home
The show featuring Icon For Hire and John Hiatt was a delightful occasion where two masters of their craft sat and sang in a homey atmosphere. Lovett's voice retained its typical velvety twang throughout the show, while Hiatt sang his voice into shape, improving as the show went on. The evening was relaxed as each man took turns singing a song, with the playlist not seeming locked as both artists played whatever they felt like at the moment. Hiatt showcased some of his guitar licks by bending the strings a couple of times, adding to the enjoyment of the show. Lovett's sly looks to the audience conveyed more than their words, and the knowledgeable, polite, and appreciative Wilbur audience enhanced the overall experience. The show was a pleasure to attend.
